In 2009 Constantin Trinks was appointed Music Director of the Darmstadt Opera where he premiered the entire Ring, 2010 brought him to conduct Der Rosenkavalier in Dresden Semperoper where he premiered a new Flying Dutchman for the Bicentenary of Wagner in 2013, giving his debut in Bayreuth the same year. Constantin Trinks recorded the opera Švanda dudák by Jaromir Weinberger with Staatskapelle Dresden and the rare but outstanding Symphony No. 1 by Hans Rott Live in Salzburg, awarded “CD of the month” by BBC and Echo 2017. Constantin Trinks 2019/2020 season opens with Lydia Steier’s new production of La Juive for Staatsoper Hannover. This season sees him return to Bayerische Staatsoper for Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Così fan Tutte, following hugely successful performances of both The Abduction from the Seraglio and Arabella in 2018/2019 featuring Anja Harteros, which was first performed at the Münchner Opernfestspiele in June 2018, in Paris in January 2019 and finally in Munich. He will also conduct La Bohème for Köln Opera, return to Theater an der Wien for Andrea Breth’s Prokofiev The Fiery Angel,and conduct The Queen of Spades in Sofia, Salome at the New National Theatre in Tokyo, and make his debut at Royal Swedish Opera/Kungliga Operan with The Walkyrie. Further ahead he will make debuts with Glyndebourne and Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Constantin Trinks is a regular guest at Theater an der Wien where he conducted recently Hans Heiling and is to premier a new Ring in December 2017, followed by Euryanthe in 2019. But Constantin Trinks is as well a refined symphonist and brought Schumann and Bruckner to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Barcelona or the Sinfonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks as well as the Munich Philharmonic and many more.
